In mid March 2012, SFCCC lead a delegation
of community health centers to address the needs of the un-insured and
under-insured in San
Francisco and
across the nation. Congressional Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi talked at length
with representatives from San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium, St. Anthony Clinic,
South of Market Health Center, North East Medical Services, Mission Neighborhood Health Center and Haight Ashbury-Walden House.
Following the conversation, SFCCC
Board Chair Dr. Ana
Valdes presented Leader Pelosi with a award for her national
outstanding leadership. The Award was presented on behalf of the National
Association of Community Health Centers and their 1800 health centers serving
over 22 million patients annually.
